Disney Channel Announces 'Jessie' Series Finale

Disney Channel has just announced the series finale for Jessie which will air on October 16 at 8/7c. The finale is a normal length episode despite it being a fourth season. The finale entitled, "Ooray for Ollywood" follows Jessie as she heads to L.A. for a role in a movie when Christina Ross returns home. But when the kids realize they still need her, they follow Jessie to Hollywood.

Fans still have more episodes before the last episode airs. Two more episodes will air on October 2 at 8/7c and October 9 at 7:30/6:30c. The October 2nd episode is a Halloween episode, too. Here are the descriptions for the two other episodes coming this month:

JESSIE “The Ghostess with the Mostest”
Season 4, Episode 18
While trick-or-treating, Stuart warns the Ross kids about a ghost named Abigail. Then, at a masquerade party, Jessie meets a mysterious, masked boy who she falls for.

JESSIE “The Fear in Our Stars”
Season 4, Episode 19
Jessie has to relearn all the “special skills” she listed on her resume for a commercial that she booked. Meanwhile, Ravi convinces Luke that a meteor is headed towards Earth.

The comedy will end its run with 98 episodes. However, the spinoff following the series, BUNK'D, will return to airing new episodes this November. The cast of BUNK'D are also hosting "Monstober" while Jessie airs its last three episodes.

NEW YORK – Sept. 23, 2015 - This October, Nickelodeon conjures up a month-long Halloween celebration including holiday-themed premieres and specials from its live-action, animation and preschool series. Beginning Saturday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. (ET/PT), Nick treats viewers to a fangtastical TV movie, Liar, Liar, Vampire, starring Brec Bassinger (Bella and the Bulldogs) and Rahart Adams (Every Witch Way), followed by weekly Halloween-themed premieres throughout the month.


Nickelodeon also invites viewers to the Halloween Ultimate Costume Party, a 60 minute special debuting Sunday, Oct. 18, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). Hosted by the cast of Game Shakers, the fest features live music, a costume contest, DIY Halloween tips and tutorials, along with special appearances by the cast of Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & DawnTalia in the Kitchen and the WITS Academy.

Throughout October, Nickelodeon's hit mobile apps get into the spirit with bone-chilling updates including new characters, collectable items and Halloween designs. SpongeBob Moves In will introduce a new character, Lord Poltergeist, new costumes and a Spooky Bikini Bottom skin. Sky Whale, the recently launched app from the new live-action series, Game Shakers, will feature ten new Halloween-themed collectible objects. Preschoolers will also be treated to new updates on the Nick Jr App and Noggin with themed home screens and video hubs, and Halloween-themed episodes of hit preschool series.

Fans can also visit Nick.com/games to access two new Halloween-themed games and a ghoulish update to fan-favorite, Nick Dance Machine, launching Oct. 5. Nickelodeon Trendsetters debuts on Oct. 12, followed by Nickelodeon: OMG, Zombies! on Oct. 19.

It's Halloween and Leah invites her genies over to join the fun. Since everyone is in costume, no one will know they're real genies!. It's a spooktacular adventure as the girls try to stop Frankenstein from smashing every Jack-O'-Lantern in Leah's neighborhood.

When Emma accidentally scares off Abuela's cat Lucky on Halloween, Dora and her friends must travel to a real monster mash to save the kitty from a jealous witch.

In "Le Corn Maze…OF DOOM!," After the kids claim that last year's Halloween maze wasn't all scary, the Squirrels swear to make this year's maze the scariest ever. The twins go after him, but they must conquer their own fears to bring him back in time for Chime Time.

'Dog With a Blog' To End Its Run With Series Finale

Dog With a Blog will end its run after its series finale, 'Stan's Secret Is Out', airs on Friday, September 25 at 8/7c.

The episode follows Ellen and Bennett finding out that Stan can talk, and after accidentally speaking in front of Clonel Fink, the entire James-Jennings family is taken hostage by the U.S. Space Command's Alien Division. Together, the family must work together and devise an escape plan, all while protecting Stan.

Disney Channel Orders Latino Family Sitcom Toplined by ‘Jane the Virgin’ Star

Disney Channel has ordered new series “Stuck in the Middle,” starring “Jane the Virgin’s” Jenna Ortega, Disney & Nick Alive! has learned exclusively from Variety.
The comedy is slated to debut in spring 2016 with production beginning this November.
The family sitcom marks a move toward Latino-targeted programming for the kids’ cabler. The single-cam series is centered around the Diaz family, and is told from the perspective of the middle child, Harley, played by Ortega, whom Disney Channel is grooming to be their next big star.
Ortega’s character is an engineering whiz who uses her inventions to navigate life as the middle child in a large family of seven kids. Harley’s overlooked status proves to be both a blessing and a curse, as she maneuvers her way through the everyday antics that come with being part of a big family.
The siblings are played by a mish-mosh of familiar Disney faces and newbies to the network. Ronni Hawk will play Rachel; Kayla Maisonet (“Dog With a Blog”) as Georgie; Isaak Presley (“Austin & Ally”) as Grant; Nicolas Bechtel (“General Hospital”) as Danny; Malachi Barton (“Best Friends Whenever”) as Beast; and Ariana Greenblatt (“Liv and Maddie”) as Daphne.
“Stuck in the Middle” is exec produced by Linda Videtti Figueiredo (“Rules of Engagement,” “Last Man Standing”), who will also serve as showrunner. The pilot, which was picked up this past February, was co-penned by Figueiredo and Alison Brown (“Dog With a Blog”), with a story by Brown.
Ortega stars as Young Jane on the CW’s “Jane the Virgin,” which is entering its sophomore season this fall. Her other TV credits include Fox’s short-lived “Rake,” “CSI: NY” and Netflix’s “Richie Rich.” Her film credits include “Iron Man 3” and “Insidious: Chapter 3.”

Disney XD Greenlights ‘Lab Rats’ and ‘Mighty Med’ Spinoff Series

Disney XD has given a series order to “Lab Rats: Elite Force,” a spinoff merging the cable net’s sitcoms “Lab Rats: Bionic Island” and “Mighty Med.”
Both “Lab Rats” and “Mighty Med,” which are currently in the midst of airing new episodes, will end after their respective season runs are over, being succeeded by the “Elite Force” offshoot.
“Lab Rats: Elite Force” will bring together the stars of the other two series, as they reprise their “Lab Rats” and “Mighty Med” roles.
“Lab Rats” cast members Billy Unger and Kelli Berglund will star in the new show, returning as their characters Chase and Bree, while “Mighty Med” actors Bradley Steven Perry, Jake Short and Paris Berelc round out the cast as Kaz, Oliver and Skylar.
The spinoff will be set in the “Lab Rats” world, after the Mighty Med hospital is destroyed by a band of unknown super-villains. Kaz (Perry), Oliver (Short) and Skylar (Perelc) join forces with Chase (Unger) and Bree (Berglund) to form a powerful elite force that combines bionic abilities and superpowers. Together, they vow to track down the villains and keep the world safe.
“Elite Force” will be exec produced by “Lab Rats” creators Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore, who got their start on “That ’70s Show.” The series hails from It’s A Laugh Productions.
“Disney XD is bringing together some of its most popular stars to assemble a super-sized series that will appeal to fans of both shows,” Adam Bonnett, EVP of original programming for Disney Channels Worldwide, said. “Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore have been at the helm of delivering event programming for our viewers, and we’re excited that they will continue to develop these imaginative worlds and characters that audiences have come to love.”
Production begins in October on “Lab Rats: Elite Force,” which is scheduled to premiere in 2016.

Furthering its commitment to kids and families, Disney Channel will present a special episode of the family comedy series "Girl Meets World" that delivers both entertainment and information for kids and parents about Asperger’s syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder. Three experts consulted on the episode to help deliver an authentic storyline that can spark conversation among kids and their families. They are: Elizabeth Laugeson, Psy.D, The Help Group; child development consultant Arthur Pober, Ed.D.; and Shiela Wagner, M.Ed., retired, Emory Autism Center.

In the story, "Girl Meets Farkle," Riley, Maya and Lucas emphasize the beauty of being unique as they rally around their friend Farkle Minkus, who may be on the autism spectrum. Meanwhile, his friendship with another student, Smackle, grows fonder. The episode premieres FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Guest starring are Cecilia Balagot ("Isadora Smackle"), Cyrina Fiallo ("Ms. Oben") and Lee Norris ("Stuart Minkus") and Kristanna Loken ("Jennifer Bassett Minkus"), who return to their "Boy Meets World" roles, now as Farkle’s parents.
