'Gamer's Guide' Renewed For Season 2

Disney XD is taking Gamer’s Guide To Pretty Much Everything to the next level. The cable net said today that it has ordered a second season of the live-action comedy starring Cameron Boyce as a teenage pro-gaming phenomenon whose thumb injury forces him off the elite pro gaming circuit and back to public school. Production on Season 2 starts in the spring in Los Angeles for a 2016 bow.
Disney XD 2015 logoDisney XD said Gamer’s Guide scored the No. 1 debut among boys 6-11 in the network’s 15-year history and thus far ranks as its No. 2 live-action original series ever among the target boys 2-11 and 6-11 demos. It was created by Devin Bunje and Nick Stanton, who also serve as executive producers alongside showrunner Jim O’Doherty.
When Conor goes back to school, he is reunited with the three former gamer friends (Murray Wyatt Rundus, Felix Avitia and Sophie Reynolds) he left behind for life on the pro tour and quickly realizes that restoring his friendships is vital in his quest to “level up” to his former glory. In Season 1, they formed their high school’s first-ever gaming league. In Season 2, the team sets its sights on a global championship, and the foursome will face new challenges and new rivals along the way.

Blake Shelton To Host 'Kids Choice Awards 2016' On March 12

via Billboard:
Nickelodeon is hoping kids and their parents will turn their chairs for the host of the 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards -- Blake Shelton.
Shelton’s been making headlines for his budding romance with his Voice co-star Gwen Stefani, but he also has a soft spot for handing out orange blimps and dodging the green stuff. Check out this exclusive promo of the artist being wooed by previous KCA hosts, then getting doused with the green stuff and noting, “this feels nice.”
The move to put Shelton in the slime-light for the March 2016 event comes as country music continues to attract young audiences. Disney tossed its cowboy hat in the ring last week with the launch of Radio Disney spinoff Radio Disney Country at the CMA Awards.
For Nickelodeon, Shelton’s cross-generational appeal could also translate to more parents and older viewers tuning in to the KCAs. While last year’s master of ceremonies Nick Jonas delivered to the younger set, the live show weathered a significant ratings decline in both the 18-49 demo and total viewership from the prior year when Mark Wahlberg hosted. Other recent Kids’ Choice hosts include Josh Duhamel in 2013, Will Smith in 2012 and multi-year slime king Jack Black in 2011.
via Disney & Nick Form:
The award show is set to air on Saturday, March 12. It is a little earlier than expected from its usual last Saturday of March slot.

Nickelodeon To Premiere New Seasons of 'Talia In The Kitchen' and 'Make It Pop'

Nickelodeon is having two big premieres in its huge late 2015/2016 setup. Talia In The Kitchen will premiere the first episode of the second half of its first season on Wednesday, November 25 as a special preview. The entire season will have episodes rolling out beginning the following Monday, November 30. The premiere episode, "After The Storm", follows Talia and her friends after the huge typhoon in Miami.

Another big premiere for Nickelodeon comes in December with the Season 2 premiere of Make It Pop. The currently untitled episode will premiere on Saturday, December 5 at a time to be announced soon. The second season picks up after Corki's father decides that she needs to leave the school and abandon the band to prevent his daughter from being distracted from studies.

Make sure to tune in on Nickelodeon this November for a huge month of premieres. Make It Pop will continue airing across the early 2016 schedule while Talia will conclude the second half of its 40-episode first season late in December.
