Nickelodeon August 2016 Live-Action Premiere Highlights

Nickelodeon shouldn't be premiering that much new live-action content in August, just like last year. So far, the only announced premieres are an episode of Make It Pop and an episode of The Thundermans.

'Make It Pop" Renewed For Season 3 (EXCLUSIVE)

Nickelodeon has officially announced that 'Make It Pop' is returning for a third season.



The K-pop inspired music weekday strip is set to return to television with a special, "Summer Splash" airing on August 20, with special guest star, JoJo Siwa. Soon after the episode, the full 20-episode season is set to follow with production for season 3 have had already started.

Season 3 is expected to take place right after season 2 concluded when XO-IQ moving to a prestigious country club for a huge gig. You can check out the behind-the-scenes video of the upcoming special below.



Make It Pop follows three girls at Mackendrick Prep: media star Sun Hi Song, fashionista Jodi Mappa, and bookworn Corki Chang, who, with the help of DJ Caleb David, form a high school K-pop inspired band called XO-IQ and find music, mischief, love, and friendship. The second season of the show wrapped in late January.

During its sophomore season, Make It Pop remained as Nick's No. 1 show with K6-11 and G6-11. The series was created by Thomas W. Lynch and Nick Cannon and is produced by DHX Media. Its debut season first premiere in March 2015 with the next season following a January 2016 premiere. The series has also spawned two soundtracks: Make It Pop and Tomorrow Is Ours.

Nickelodeon's 'Crashletes' To Possibly Follow Kids Choice Sports 2016

News has been released regarding the release of a new show on Nickelodeon and its premiere. 'Crashletes', a viral sports clip series, will premiere this July. July is also when the Kids Choice Sports 2016 will take place, so it is very likely 'Crashletes' will follow the awards show.

New England Patriots Super Bowl XLIX Champion and Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski has announced the exciting news in a phone interview with For The Win that Nickelodeon USA will start to premiere and show Crashletes, the networks brand-new viral sports clip series, from July 2016!


"That's going great. I finished shooting all 20 episodes. We got 20 episodes and it starts airing in July. It'll be on Nickelodeon. It'll be great. I haven't seen the final product, but I heard it looks great, and I can't wait to see it ... We'll be showing bloopers and redoing them and making comments about them. It was a lot of fun doing it. It's by Nickelodeon, rated PG, it's for everyone, for kids, parents can watch it too," he told FTW, adding "I just felt like it was a great fit. It was for kids, and I feel like doing silly things on the set and saying silly comments suits me well."


Hosted by Rob Gronkowski and co-hosted by Stevie Nelson and Brandon Broady, Crashletes will feature guest personalities from the worlds of sports and entertainment, along with the funniest, craziest viral sports clips and user-generated content from around the world. As host, Gronkowski will offer funny commentary on the clips, alongside his co-hosts and guest stars, including his family! The series is produced by Rob Dyrdek and Shane Nickerson of Superjacket Productions (Fantasy FactoryRidiculousness).

Nickelodeon May 2016 Live-Action Premiere Highlights

This is what we know so far of Nickelodeon's live-action schedule for May 2016.

Henry Danger, School of Rock, and Bella and the Bulldogs are all preparing to wrap up their current seasons with some of the final episodes premiering this May. School of Rock and Bella should have up to 1 to 3 episodes remaining for June while Henry should have 2 to 4 including the mini Thundermans crossover, Danger & Thunder. This month also features a hour long Game Shakers special ending the show's hiatus all leading up to the summer.

Nickelodeon March 2016 Live-Action Premiere Highlights

The major event for Nickelodeon is the huge 2016 Kids Choice Awards hosted by Blake Shelton on March 12. 

This March, Nickelodeon's Saturday nights are changing with its lineup. The Game Shakers and Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn lineup that has run since January will end on March 5 without 100 Things which concluded its first season on February 27. 

The following Saturday are the KCAs where the brand new series, School of Rock, will premiere. This will begin airing on Saturday nights along with Henry Danger and Bella & The Bulldogs beginning March 19.

Game Shakers and Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn will air their final 5 episodes sometime this summer.

Nickelodeon Upfront is on March 2nd. Renewals for The Thundermans, Henry Danger, and Game Shakers have been announced.

The Thundermans will return next month to the lineup.
